Faith & Self!

From the book, Becoming A Spiritualist by H. Gordon Burroughs, chapter 23, pg 110-111 states, “The truth of the matter is that we do not have faith, because if we had, it would have sustained us when we needed it. The faith we had was lip-faith, not soul-faith. If we have soul-faith, it grows, because it is a part of us. We put it into our lives and demonstrate it within our own consciousness every day until it becomes a reality to us.”

The fact of living in a constant state of duality, can make one feel, frustrated and confused. I have to be one way for friends and family and one way for peers and colleagues and another way for expanded social circles and more. This is a sure way of finding oneself in a personal inner conflict.

Our faith will show us places of greatness and wonder. Our faith will keep leading us back on the true path for our higher evolution. Our faith will lead us to a deeper sense of knowing. Faith can chisel away any and all layers from “myself” and help me connect with “my-self”.

From the book, The sayings of Confucius, translated by James Ware, pg 93 states, “Formerly men studied for SELF-Improvement; today men study for the sake of SELF-Appearance.”

It is monumental to see ourselves to be the key ingredient towards any and every outcome. “I will do my part” will always lead us home. Personal responsibility can always freshen up our vantage point. How we see and perceive life-events can be changed with simplified awareness. This is my, life, and I have the ability to connects the dots that bring faith and self closer that will lead me toward green pastures.

Can you harvest mangoes from an orange tree? No!

Similarly, you cannot expect to change life’s outcomes without changing yourself. Rumi reminds us, “In this earth, in this soil, in this pure field let’s not plant any seed other than seeds of compassion and love.” Through this awareness, we may strengthen our faith in ourselves. Through strengthening of our faith, we may become more closer to our self.

While we take the journey, we get to grow and be wise, we get to learn from our experiences and our stories.
